Cancellation Policy
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel at least 48 hours before your arrival and we will gladly issue a refund to the credit card used to hold the reservation minus a $10 service fee. Cancellations within the 48 hour window will not be refunded. Cancellation must be made by phone (928-643-7232). Refunds will not be given for circumstances beyond our control (for example: government shutdowns, forest fires, road closures, etc.)
Large Groups (5 or More Rooms)
For groups that require more than four rooms we ask you call us at (928) 643-7232 and have us help you make the arrangements. Groups meeting these requirements must put down a $300-$500 deposit to guarantee the rooms. The deposit for group reservations will be charged to a single credit card, not multiple credit cards. If you cancel your large group reservation, we require a one month notice to issue a refund on the deposit minus a $10.00 service fee. Cancellation must be made by phone (928-643-7232). Refunds will not be given for circumstances beyond our control (for example: government shutdowns, forest fires, road closures, etc.) We have the right to cancel any multiple-room reservations that have not been approved by the management.
Other Policies
We have a strict non-smoking policy inside the lodge and all rooms. Smoking in a non-smoking room will result in a cleaning cost of $200 being charged to the offending individual’s credit card.
Pets
We allow pets ONLY in the motel and cabins. Pet fees are $35 for cabins and $45 for motel rooms. Pets are not allowed in the hotel building so please keep that in mind when making a reservation.
Amenities and Limitations
Jacob Lake Inn would like to make more amenities available for our guests, but due to our remote location and Forest Service restrictions many of our options are limited.
TV and Phones
Cabins and motel rooms do not have television, or phones. However, for those who would like television, our hotel rooms have cable TV.
Limited Cell-Phone Reception
Due to the rugged terrain, remote location, and trees, there is very limited cell phone service available depending on your provider. This can make it difficult for many travelers, and those who depend on their phones for GPS. If going without service is a major issue, we recommend checking with your cellphone provider to see if they provide service in the area.
Water
We ask that our guests use water sparingly while they stay with us. Since Jacob Lake is nearly 50 miles from the nearest town there is no public water or sewage treatment. We haul all of the water for our operations from a series of clean mountain springs into our own water and sewage treatment system that we operate on our own at considerable expense. This means we do not allow our guests to use our water to:
There are designated RV camping locations in the area with full hookups.
No Portable Stoves, Grills, Coffee Pots, or other Cooking on the Premises
Because of our dry climate and heavy fire restrictions, cooking is not allowed in any of the rooms or on our property including coffee makers and portable stoves or grills. The Kaibab National Forest is prone to wildfires, especially during the summer and fall months when most of our guests come to visit the Grand Canyon. For this reason we do not allow cooking on our property.
Smoking Restrictions
Smoking is also prohibited except in vehicles and designated areas. Many fires have been started by cigarettes, please join us in protecting our beautiful forest for future generations.
Campfire Restrictions
For those who come to Jacob Lake Inn and the North Rim to camp, we recommend looking at the following link for campfire restrictions. The forest can be quite dry and in those conditions wildfires have destroyed thousands of acres of forest. Please be careful, and check restrictions before building a fire. Violations can result in fines and other penalties.
Wi-FI
Jacob Lake provides complimentary wi-fi access to all our guests. Login information will be provided to you when you check in.
